In the month of April, despite
stiff competition, NEWGEN reinforced its leading position as a CTS
provider. Karnataka Bank Ltd., a premier private sector bank in India,
with 79 years of experience in banking, selected NEWGEN Cheque Truncation
System (CTS).
Meanwhile, another bank in
Taiwan, Cathay United Bank, decided to go in for OmniFlow solution (BPM),
from NEWGEN.
Emaar-MGF Pvt. Limited, a joint
venture company formed by Emaar Properties PJSC - the world's largest
listed Dubai-based Real Estate company, and MGF Development Ltd. from
India, chose Document Management System (DMS), from NEWGEN for managing
the property records.
NEWGEN also participated in the eGov Asia 2006
conference hosted by Ministry of ICT, Government of Thailand, in Bangkok.
The conference
was attended by top officials, policymakers, industry leaders, and
academicians from the APAC region.

NEWGEN
reinforced its leading position as CTS provider. Karnataka Bank Ltd., a
premier private sector bank in India, selected NEWGEN Cheque Truncation
System.
As a part
of its IT initiative and RBI’s directive, the bank would introduce Cheque
truncation system at New Delhi. Subsequently, it would be extended to other
clearing centers as per RBI stipulations.
Karnataka
Bank evaluated the solutions from a range of established CTS players and
finally selected Newgen for the unique-solution approach, domain expertise
in BFSI and ease of solution deployment.

Cathay United Bank
banks on NEWGEN BPM for Process Centralization
NEWGEN
continued to consolidate its presence in Taiwan with yet another big win -
the highly respected Cathay United Bank.
The BPM
solution from NEWGEN would help Cathay United Bank centralize its Forex and
remittance related processes such as L/C Opening Workflow, Outward
Remittance, Buying FX Deposit, Foreign Currency Bank Note Processing, etc.
The
process centralization would enable the bank to cut down the turnaround
time, improve employee productivity, eliminate overheads in process
execution, improve efficiency, enable quick decision-making and achieve
greater control over their operations.
Cathay
United Bank is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan with more than 107 branches.
It has four major product lines: Corporate Banking, Consumer Banking,
Credit Cards and Wealth Management. The bank has 8 overseas offices located
in China, South East Asia and United States.

Emaar MGF Opts for
NEWGEN to Manage its Property Documents
Emaar
MGF, the fast upcoming real estate company, is implementing Document
Management Solution (DMS) from NEWGEN for managing property records at its
New Delhi office.
The
Lands Records department of Emaar-MGF was facing problems in handling the
Deed documents such as registry copy, agreements, mutation deeds, copy of
cheques, receipts, memos, etc.
The
Deed documents were manually stored/archived resulting in long retrieval
time & painstaking monitoring of the documents pertaining to specific
transactions of a particular project. All the users used to maintain
photocopies of various Deeds and associated documents, to gain a quick
access to the relevant documents. Thus, each user handled large number of
documents, resulting in inefficiency and unproductive work.
NEWGEN
OmniDocs (DMS) is being installed at the Land Records Department of
Emaar-MGF at New Delhi. The solution would enable scanning, storage and
retrieval of Deed documents, and the associated transaction-level details,
from a central repository, where they are instantly available at the click
of a mouse.
The
solution uses OmniCapture to scan and index documents and OmniDocs for
storage & retrieval of documents.

the eGov Asia 2006 conference
The eGov
Asia 2006 conference hosted by Ministry of ICT, Government of Thailand
brought together policymakers, industry leaders and academicians, from
Asia-Pacific nations, to cross-learn the various eGovernance initiatives
and strategies, and to foster further growth of such initiatives. The
conference provided a platform for various IT organizations, to showcase
their products, interact closely with the policy and decision makers, and
learn about new advancements in solutions and services, for eGovernance.
Mr. Punit
Jain, VP- Sales and Marketing, NEWGEN, delivered the keynote address. Mr.
Jain shared case studies of the various E-governance projects implemented
by NEWGEN, in India. The conference also provided a good meeting ground
with Thai officials and other key decision makers from the APAC region.
With the APAC region witnessing rapid growth in E-governance, NEWGEN saw a
great opportunity to take forward its solution.

Indian
Bank selects Newgen for Cheque Truncation
Chennai-headquartered
Indian Bank has recently selected Chequeflow solution from Delhi-based
document management and workflow specialist, Newgen Software. This is the
third win by Newgen for its chequetruncation solution (CTS) in India, the
earlier two being at ING Vysya Bank and a London based Banking and Financial
Services Organisation last year.
