February was an eventful month, with NEWGEN sponsoring and participating in events, implementing solutions across industry verticals and landing new orders.

NEWGEN co-sponsored the 9th National e-Governance Conference, participated in the HP Partners Connect Meet, Thailand and in Banking Technology 2006, Mumbai.

NEWGEN bagged the order for implementing its Cheque Truncation System (CTS) at the HSBC Bank. The CTS solution from NEWGEN is being implemented at eight branches of HSBC in Mumbai.

In the Insurance vertical, NEWGEN solution helped in Automation of Policy Issuance and Tracking, at Royal Sundaram. The BPO vertical segment saw NEWGEN get an order to implement the Accounts Payable process, at Wipro BPO.

In the Transportation, and Logistics segment, the implementation at V.Ships, of NEWGEN Document Management and Workflow solution, for Image-based processing, was taken forward. At MP Transport Department, two processes went live in the month of February.

NEWGEN Participates at the HP Partners Connect Meet

 

NEWGEN emerged as one of the key HP partners to participate at the HP Partners Connect recognition program organized in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in February 2006.

 

The meet was a unique business opportunity for the HP partners, both channel partners and Independent Software Vendors (ISV) partners to interact with top executives and decision-makers, to collaborate for exploiting future opportunities. It was a platform for ISV partners who were keen to triangulate with HP Value Partners, across multiple countries in APJ, to extend their reach through the HP Ecosystem.

 

Out of the four exclusive ISVs that were extended the invite by HP, from APAC region, NEWGEN was one of the coveted partners from India.

 

Mr. Punit Jain, VP Sales and Marketing represented NEWGEN at the prestigious meet. NEWGEN showcased its product suite consisting of OmniFlow, OmniDocs, OmniReports and Cheque Truncation System (CTS). NEWGEN garnered much of the attention at the event.

NEWGEN Participates at Banking Technology 2006

 

Distinguished delegates and representatives from premier banks and financial institutions & companies along with leading IT solutions providers in Banking and Financial Services domain congregated in February, in Mumbai, to participate in one of the most respected events for India's banking and financial services sector.

 

NEWGEN actively participated at the event and demonstrated its world-class BPM, Workflow and Cheque Truncation solutions. The conference focused on discussing and addressing the challenges faced by the banking and financial industry, and the future demands they have to meet in the form of adopting new technologies, addressing security concerns, forging alliances, ensuring more productive workforce and delivering better value to customers.

 

The event was organized by TFCI, and Indian Banks' Association (IBA).

NEWGEN sponsors eGovernance Summit

 

NEWGEN took a further step in its initiative on e-governance by co-sponsoring the 9th National eGovernance Conference, held at Kochi, Kerala.

 

The conference provided a unique opportunity to experts from the government departments and technology solution providers to discuss various challenges faced in the implementation of eGovernance projects.

 

Mr. Punit Jain, VP, Sales and Marketing, NEWGEN, gave a presentation on the capabilities of NEWGEN BPM solution in accelerating eGovernance. He also shared valuable knowledge that NEWGEN has acquired over the years while implementing eGovernance projects in India, and across developing countries.

 

NEWGEN submitted case studies for two of its prestigious eGovernance projects- Outsourcing of Payment Collection and Automation of Estate Office, Chandigarh and implementation of Workflow based Document Management System at GSFC, Gujarat. Leading companies like Microsoft, Red Hat and Oracle were present at the presentation. In addition to this, due to extensive interactions with key decision-makers in various government sectors, NEWGEN was able to project itself as a strong player in the eGovernance arena.

NEWGEN starts CTS implementation at a London based Banking and Financial Services Organisation

 

NEWGEN added another prestigious client for its state-of-the-art Cheque Truncation Solution (CTS). A London based Banking and Financial Services Organisation decided to go for NEWGEN solution.

 

The CTS solution from NEWGEN is being implemented at eight branches of the bank, in Mumbai. Currently, a cheque deposit machine has been installed where cheque images are captured, and these images are then sent further for outward clearing.

 

NEWGEN is already implementing the solution at ING Vysya bank and some other banks. The decision of the bank to select NEWGEN CTS reinforces the technological capability of the solution.

NEWGEN to implement another process at Wipro BPO

 

NEWGEN recently got an order to implement the Accounts Payable process at Wipro BPO, Chennai. It involves processing of scanned invoices received from US and covers complete gamut of activities including exception handling, audit trail, etc.

 

NEWGEN has already implemented several other processes at Wipro BPO.

 

Wipro BPO provides a broad range of services from customer relationship management, back office transaction processing to industry specific solutions. Wipro BPO is a part of Wipro Technologies, World's first CMMi ver1.1 Level 5 and PCMM Level 5 company. Wipro Technologies is ranked fourth largest in the world in terms of market capitalization in IT services.

NEWGEN Solution Helps V.Ships Automate its Solution

 

V.Ships deployed OmniDocs, the Document Management and Workflow solution for Image-based processing of its Accounts instruments. Accounting personnel, dispersed across the world, process scanned copies of instruments such as invoices, purchase orders, etc. The workflow,  which is initiated by the relevant Management personnel, located at different hubs, across the world involves Image-based processing. Once initiated, workflow spawns the processing of instruments by Accounting personnel, at the processing hubs. V.Ships has processing hubs in India and several other countries.

 

The main highlight of the implementation has been the seamless integration with the legacy application, ShipSure, being used at V.Ships and OmniDocs, the Enterprise Document Management System from NEWGEN.

 

Users invoke OmniDocs through ShipSure interface. Documents are scanned using the capture tools and are then filed in OmniDocs under a logical hierarchy. Documents can also be linked with business objects in the application and can be viewed in the Web browser.

V.Ships is an international company and has 44 offices across 26 countries all around the globe. NEWGEN BPM System Automates Policy Issuance and Tracking at Royal Sundaram Alliance

 

Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company Limited has successfully implemented NEWGEN BPM Solution, known as Spider, which automates policy issuance as well as tracks motor policies for both private cars and commercial vehicles. The solution includes OmniCapture, OmniDocs and OmniFlow. The solution manages policies under two categories, New Business and Renewals.

 

The BPM solution integrates the Centralized Processing Unit (CPU) of Royal Sundaram with its seven branches, across India. The CPU is located in Chennai. The branches are located at Hyderabad, Cochin, Bangalore, Kolkata, SBS Chennai, Nungambakkam Chennai and Coimbatore. Proposals are scanned at individual branches using OmniCapture and sent to CPU for further processing towards issuance of policy. The system also provides logins for the branch users to resolve processing queries through a Web interface.

 

The solution enables Royal Sundaram to issue about 2,600 policies per month, and has so far enabled issuance of more than 32,000 policies.

Madhya Pradesh Transport Department

First Two Processes go Live at Madhya Pradesh Transport Department (MPTD)

 

OmniFlow, the Newgen workflow solution enabled MP Transport Department to go live with its first two processes on 20 Feb 2006.The processes were Issuance of Vehicle Registration Certificate, and Issuance of Temporary Permit.

 

The workflow solution provided to MPTD will help to increase the Transport department’s operational efficiency. The application developed earlier by Smart Card Ltd.(SCL) had to be integrated with OmniFlow to provide the required workflow automation at transport department. For this, the following was done:

 

·         OmniFlow desktop client was used and the forms in the current application were used in a custom work desk developed by SCL for the same.

 

·         The current application was updated and modified to ensure one-to-one correspondence between an application (work item) and data being displayed or edited in the forms at a particular work step.

NEWGEN Solutions Deployed at BAGIC

NEWGEN accelerated the claims processing at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. NEWGEN has installed OmniDocs at BAGIC's head office in Pune and at their 40 full-fledged branches. OmniCapture has been deployed to upload relevant data. Remote Image Servers (RIS) have been installed at each of the remote sites and scanned images of the claims settlements from the RIS are uploaded to the head office during off-peak hours.
