Congratulations!

We have completed another great year. A commendable effort from the Communications Team, that ensured timely release of the newsletters with the entire month’s happenings, events, wins and much more. Of course, all this was made possible by contributions from NEWGEN sales and marketing offices across India.  We dedicate the Second Anniversary issue to NEWGEN HELP DESK, put together to act as a one-stop contact point. The Help Desk will quickly and efficiently resolve various issues of end- users, partners and customers.

The NEWGEN Help Desk System is an automated system to register, resolve and respond to the customer queries. It is built on top of OmniFlow (BPM) and OmniDocs (DMS), the flagship products of NEWGEN. For any assistance in resolving queries, post your problems/queries to helpdesk@newgen.co.in .

Meanwhile, in the months of May and June, Newgen moved ahead with several wins and participated in several international seminars and summits.

Newgen registered another big Cheque Truncation System (CTS) win in UAE. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), the second largest bank in UAE, selected Newgen cheque truncation solution.

ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited, deployed Newgen DMS.

Newgen participated in the SAP Summit 2006, held at Mumbai. Leading Indian and International companies exhibited their SAP-integrated products and solutions. Newgen also participated in IBM software partner summit 2006 held in Mauritius.

At the Microsoft Executive Summit (MES), one of the main events of Microsoft, in India, Newgen showcased its CTS and OmniDocs (DMS).

In the last one year Newgen has already filed five patents in Imaging domain, with more than a dozen under the process. Newgen hopes to file more than 200 patents by 2010.

Newgen reached yet another milestone by successfully completing Red Hat integration for OmniDocs. Red Hat India Pvt. Ltd. designated OmniDocs 3.5.4 R3 as Red Hat Ready for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4.

Newgen Launches Centralized Helpdesk for its Customers and Partners

 

Newgen, in its continuous endeavor to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction, has launched the Helpdesk System. Newgen’s Helpdesk is an automated system to register, resolve and respond to the queries of the customers and to keep a track of all the reported problems. The system addresses customers’ queries and complaints in a systematic and timely manner.

 

The salient features of the Helpdesk System include:

·         Automatic routing of queries on a predefined path or process based on the category of the reported problem

·         Monitoring and tracking of all the queries and auto reminders/escalations for pending queries

·         Building a knowledge base to provide ready answers and solutions for similar or same queries posted earlier

 

The customers are benefited by:

·         Immediate acknowledgement against registration of their problems.

·         Continuous interaction with the customer/customer representative during the process of problem resolution.

·         Online tracking of the status of the registered queries.

Newgen Cheque Truncation System (CTS) Juggernaut Rolls on; Registers Big win in Middle East

 

After its highly successful show in India, the cheque truncation solution, CTS from Newgen is set to capture the imagination of banks in UAE. Newgen registered another big CTS win in UAE with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), the second largest bank in UAE. Newgen CTS won the order against stiff competition from a host of well-established global CTS players. The cheque-truncation solution is an image-based cheque clearance solution.

 

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, UAE, is headquartered in AbuDhabi. The bank has a strong presence in both Consumer Banking and Corporate Banking. What made ADCB go in for Newgen CTS was the unique-solution approach, domain expertise in BFSI and ease of solution deployment. The key differentiator of Newgen was a BPM-based platform for CTS. The solution will be deployed at ADCB's branches across UAE and central office in Abu Dhabi. 

 

The bank expects that the solution would result in minimizing bottlenecks and delays due to the physical transportation of cheques. The new system will reduce the time lag between cheque presentation and realization time. ADCB also plans to implement BPM solution from Newgen.

ICICI Lombard Insurance Ensures Success Through Newgen OmniDocs

 

India’s leading private General Insurance company, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited has deployed a document management solution from Newgen for Motor Policy and Corporate Policy Issuance. The solution comprises OmniDocs, the enterprise wide Document Management System (DMS) and OmniCapture, the bulk-scanning solution from Newgen.

 

The solution covers ROPS (Regional Operations), BOPS (Branch Operations) across India and 1 COPS (Central Operations). The documents are scanned at branches and regional centers using OmniCapture and subsequently uploaded and exported to OmniDocs for rendering these documents accessible from all the regional as well as central locations.

 

The implementation has resulted in drastic cut in turnaround times, as all the policy documents images are instantly accessible throughout the enterprise, with secured viewing ensured through proper distribution of rights. The solution has also helped enhance productivity of employees at ICICI Lombard. In addition to this, lower cost, better security and easier document management help ICICI Lombard realize all round benefits from the Newgen solution.

Newgen showcases its NetWeaver Integration at SAP Summit 2006

 

Newgen recently participated in the SAP Summit 2006, held at Mumbai from 14-16 June, 2006 and Bangkok on July 4, 2006

 

SAP Summit ‘06 provided a perfect forum for showcasing SAP’s strategy for co-innovation with a growing ecosystem of partners to provide better solutions to customers by leveraging existing capabilities.

 

Leading Indian and International companies exhibited their SAP-integrated products and solutions. The summit featured industry-specific presentations and live demonstrations from the exhibitors.

 

Newgen demonstrated OmniFlow suite integrated with SAP on NetWeaver platform. With the successful integration, Newgen qualifies as an Independent Software Vendor with Certified Integration, thus providing complete, technically verified turnkey software solutions that extend and add value to SAP solutions.

 

The Newgen stall generated huge interest from various industries, and registered close to 100 business queries.

Newgen Shines at IBM Software Partner Summit, 2006

 

The IBM Software Partners Summit, organised at Mauritius from May 2-4, brought together partners from across the geographies providing a platform to network with various other IBM partners and senior IBM executives.

 

The results have started coming in as NEWGEN is in talks with IBM BFSI team to partner in some of their cluster accounts as well as in the SMB space. NEWGEN is also discussing the possibilities of bundling its applications with IBM servers for the SMB market.

Newgen participates in the MES 2006 Summit

 

Microsoft Executive Summit (MES), one of the main events of Microsoft, in India, was recently organized in Mumbai. The summit witnessed distinguished speakers from around the world in various domains such as Financial Services, Manufacturing, Government, Telecom, IT services and Education. For this year’s summit, the theme was “People Ready Business”, which emphasized on empowering people with the appropriate tools to deliver better output.

 

NEWGEN showcased its Cheque Truncation solution (CTS), ChequeFlow, and Document Management Solution, OmniDocs, at its stall underpinning the great value these solutions can provide for business. Apart from presentations from key Microsoft executives, the summit also provided a chance to network with key decision makers, and CIOs of various companies, as well as, discuss and share best practices followed by companies.

 

This year’s summit, MES 2006, was eighth in the series. Top 250 CIOs in the country participated in MES 2006. The summit showcased solutions to help CIOs leverage on emerging business trends. MES 2006 also underlined the importance of right tools to deliver business impact.

OmniFlow 6.2

OmniFlow is a platform-independent, scalable BPM solution that enables automation of organizational business processes. This release of OmniFlow provides the following new features:

OmniCapture 3.1.1

OmniCapture is used to obtain electronic images from paper documents. OmniCapture automates the process of scanning documents, creating folders based on some field values, importing scanned documents, and extracting batch scanned documents with some predefined types (fixed pages, blank page as a separator etc.). This release of OmniCapture provides the following new features:

·         SQL Server (Express Edition) is used in place of MS Access.

·         Right to left language support.

OmniReports 4.1

This release of OmniReports provides the following new features:

·         Append and replace of report instance support.

OmniExtract 6.1.2

OmniExtract is a highly flexible and interoperable system that works on an open architecture. You can seamlessly integrate your new and existing business applications with OmniExtract components. This release of OmniExtract provides the following new features:

·         Enhancement in Form Definition

o         Legend – Legends can be associated to all data zones.

o         Pattern – Interface to define and associate patterns to zones (Boxed – ICR only).

o         Result – Filled Forms can be used or template definition, and results can be tested while applying properties to the data zones.

·         Enhancement in Extraction Manager

o         Legend based form recognition.

o         Auto identification of ICR boxes while recognition.

o         Kadmos engine is used for extracting OMR & MICR data.

Smart Statements is a complete billing/ statement presentation over the Intranet and Internet for the new generation office. Smart Statements facilitates the customers of an organization to view the statements/bills pages relevant to them. This release of Smart Statements provides the following new features:
