With the financial year ending,

The Office of Omudsman,
Philippines, selected NEWGEN BPM solution to bring about transparency in
their everyday work. The World Bank has funded the e-governance project.
NEWGEN closed the month with
some other great wins in the APAC region - Lippo Bank, Indonesia, Government
Housing Bank, Bangkok, and Bureau of Customs, Philippines.
NEWGEN recently won the order
to implement its CTS solution in the prestigious government-owned Indian
Bank. NEWGEN also bagged an order from First India Credit to automate its
core processes using NEWGEN BPM Suite.

Office
of Ombudsman, Philippines Turns to NEWGEN solution for More Effective
Governance
Office
of Ombudsman recently chose NEWGEN to automate its Case Management System and
Tax Management System. Interestingly, the World Bank is funding the
project.
NEWGEN
proposed an image-enabled complete workflow solution for efficient document
tracking, retrieval and archival. The BPM solution consists of OmniFlow,
OmniDocs, OmniCapture, OmniExtract and TP.
The
Workflow solution would enable Office of Ombudsman to efficiently and
quickly execute its processes and expedite the addressal of public
grievances.
Like
most of the legacy government enterprises, the Office of Ombudsman was faced
with problems of unmanaged documents/files and difficulty in tracking and
retrieving these documents when needed.
The
Office of the Ombudsman has been established to monitor the general and
specific performance of government officials and employees in effectively
and honestly carrying out their duties. It acts as a watchguard against the
misuse of government power and acts as a problem redressal forum of the
common people in dealing with government departments. The Office of the
Ombudsman is responsible for the following five major functions: Public
Assistance, Graft Prevention, Investigation, Prosecution and Administrative
Adjudication.

Lippo
Bank selects Document and Record Management Solution from NEWGEN
Lippo Bank,
based out of Indonesia, decided to implement NEWGEN solution for
Image-Enabled Business Process, a new initiative in loan business, in order
to boost its growth. For this, Lippo Bank went in for an End-to-End Loan
Business Solution that would help Lippo Bank to execute its plan
effectively. Besides, there was also a requirement for record management
activities across the regional branches and head office of Lippo Bank.
NEWGEN
has provided its enterprise DMS, OmniDocs for Document Management and Records
Management System (RMS) for handling records at Lippo Bank.
By
implementing NEWGEN solution, Lippo Bank is expected to cut down the
operating cost per transaction and reduce paper-based processing and the
process turn around time. Records Management System will help in the
efficient management of branches. By achieving continuous improvement in
business processes and operating performances through NEWGEN solution,
Lippo bank is expected to gain competitive edge over its competitors.

Government Housing Bank, Thailand homes in on NEWGEN Solution
NEWGEN
bagged an order to image enable the Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
system, Finacle, at Government Housing Board, Thailand.
The
bank’s focus area is providing home loans to people. In order to reduce the
turnaround time and provide prompt and efficient services to the consumer,
the bank decided to image enable its CRM system, Finacle, using NEWGEN DMS
solution, comprising of OmniCapture and OmniDocs. The solution will
facilitate faster responses across the loan-approval workflow.
By
implementing the solution, the bank aims to significantly reduce the
turnaround time for home loan approvals.
The
solution will be implemented on Unix-based machines.
Government
Housing Bank (GHB), a financial institution operational under the Ministry
of Finance, has been helping people, for more than 50 years, realize their
dream of their own home. The bank currently has 107 branches.
The
bank's primary objective is providing housing finance for Thai citizens,
especially for borrowers in the low-and-medium income groups.

Bureau
of Customs, Philippines Ropes in NEWGEN Solution
NEWGEN
won an order from Bureau of Customs (BOC), in Philippines, to
provide the Imaging and Document Management capabilities for their portal
that is currently under development and also for their Legal Management and
Case Tracking system, under development by a leading system integrator.
Once the solution is implemented, Documents can be accessed over the
Internet. The NEWGEN Solution consists of OmniCapture and OmniDocs (DMS).
The major
functions of BOC are to prevent smuggling and other frauds. The Bureau
controls vessels/aircrafts doing foreign trade, enforces tariff and customs
laws, controls the handling of foreign mails, for revenues and prevention
purposes, controls import and export cargoes, and has jurisdiction over
forfeiture, and seizure cases.

First India Credit
|
NEWGEN
to Implement its BPM Solution at First India Credit
NEWGEN
bagged an order from First India Credit (FIC) to automate its core
processes such as Loan Disbursement and Loan Account Maintenance among
others. In addition, several peripheral processes such as Prospect Tracking
and Collections will also be automated.
The
NEWGEN BMP suite, consisting of OmniFlow, OmniDocs and OmniCapture will
help in automating the core processes. Customer applications and associated
documents will be collected and scanned at various branches and processed
centrally where they will be stored in OmniDocs repository and introduced
into the workflow. The solution will also provide integration with core
application already running at FIC.
A
separate application has also been developed for them on top of OmniFlow to
be used by the front-end sales persons for tracking various prospective
clients and by State/Regional/Head offices to monitor sales efficiency.
By
implementing the solution from NEWGEN, FIC expects to have better control
over its processes, cut down turnaround time and obtain a competitive edge
over established players in the market.
FIC is a
joint venture between Asian Financial Holdings, Singapore and ICICI bank,
India. FIC is starting their operations in India as a Non Banking Financial
Company (NBFC) and has plans to roll out 700 branches by the end of 2007.

NEWGEN
to Implement CTS solution at Indian Bank
NEWGEN recently
won the order to implement its CTS solution in the prestigious
government-owned, Indian Bank. The solution will be implemented at its
regional branches, in Delhi. The solution will interface with FNS, the core
banking system, at Indian Bank.
Indian
Bank is a 98-year old bank with strength of more than 22,000 people and
1385 branches all over India. The bank also has presence in Singapore and
Colombo. It has been a leader in rural development, with a number of
schemes launched to meet various credit schemes of farmers. It has 3
subsidiaries for diversified banking activities. The bank has been an early
adopter of technology and the current implementation of CTS, is a further
step, towards better banking using technology.
