The implementation provides end-to-end BPM solution for the bank’s Retail Loan products. Customer details are captured at the branch and workitems are initiated. The workitems are routed to the Credit Approver located at the central office, from where it is routed ahead for final processing or routed back in case of discrepancy. Users at every stage of the workflow are pre-assigned access rights, based on their roles. The bank has been able to centralize all loan processing falling under Retail Loan Service, and has achieved operational efficiency, quicker and better customer service, and substantial cost benefits. A quick deployment further underpinned the reputation of Newgen being one of the fastest BPM implementers.
While continuing to focus on BFSI and BPO verticals, we consolidated our position in industries like Retail, Oil & Gas, and Government by bagging big orders. Praxair, a Fortune 300 company, dealing in atmospheric & specialty gases, placed an order for BPM implementation for their Accounts Payables processes. One of the fastest growing retail companies, Trent Limited, placed an order for automating and image-enabling its Payment process, covering the head office and regional stores. Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) was facing the problem of not being able to make available on demand the library books, periodicals, research papers, and other research material to its employees. The premiere research organization chose Newgen to implement OmniDocsTM based solution using PostgreSQL to render the material anytime, anywhere.

Newgen Software Registers Win From a Fortune 300 Company
Newgen Software recently won a prestigious Accounts Payables solution order from a leading atmospheric & specialty gases related services provider.
Praxair has operations in more than 30 countries. The Accounts Payables process was largely manual and handled independently in each country where it operates. Various documents such as invoices (PO and others), bills, receipts, etc., were processed for payment at various locations in respective countries.
In order to streamline the payment process and gain efficiencies of scale, Praxair established a Shared Services Center (SSC) in Shanghai, China for centralized processing of their APAC payments. Newgen proposed its Accounts Payables solution, which is based on its product suite comprising OmniFlowTM, OmniDocsTM and OmniScanTM for automated and centralized processing of documents. The Newgen solution enables Praxair to have better control of the entire payment process. The SSC processes payments for four countries in Asia – India, China, Korea and Thailand. Documents are scanned using OmniScanTM at these four locations and introduced in OmniFlowTM for centralized processing at the SSC in China. OmniDocsTM is used for storing and managing the scanned documents. Additional Image servers deployed in India, Korea and Thailand serve as local depositories, thereby reducing the bandwidth required for referring to local documents.

Newgen Software Forays into Retail & Hypermarket Segment
Trent Limited placed an order for automating and image-enabling its Purchase and Payment process. Trent operates a nationwide chain of retail stores under the brand ‘Westside’ and a hypermarket ‘Star India Bazaar’.
For purchase of goods, it follows a predominantly centralized model, wherein majority of purchases are made at the central warehouse in Pune and some purchases at the individual local stores. A Goods Receipt Note (GRN) along with other documents such as Invoice, Lorry Receipt, Quality Inspection Report, etc., is received and a copy of these documents sent to Mumbai head office through courier. At the head office, the bills are approved by recording the purchases in the existing Bill Passing System (BPS), and then the vendors are credited.
The entire process is extremely time consuming, cost-intensive and requires large, dedicated staff. With its expansion plans in sight, the company anticipates problems in scaling-up its operations. To overcome the problems, Newgen Software proposed its state-of-art, proven Document Management Solution, which would greatly speed-up the entire process and reduce the courier and human resources costs. All GRNs and associated documents would be scanned and introduced into DMS, which would be integrated with BPS and EX (financial software). Document images would be accessed by the relevant personnel for approval.
In addition to benefits such as improved turnaround time and cost cuttings, the solution would enable fast retrieval of required documents with plenty of options for search and navigation. Further, the solution also generates user reports based on different parameters such as supplier, location, time-period, etc.
Trent Limited, a public limited company established in 1998, is into retailing of readymade garments, household and gift articles, cosmetics and perfumes. It runs business under two formats, Westside and Star India Bazaar. With 25 stores under the Westside format, Trent Limited has one of India's largest and fastest growing chains of retail stores. Under the Star India Bazaar format, it operates a hypermarket.

Newgen Software Implements Document Management Solution at IGCAR
Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) chose Newgen to implement a Document Management System for Library Management for anytime, anywhere availability of research material available in the library.
IGCAR has nearly 2500 employees (both research and non-research staff) working in their campus. The library houses an ever-increasing collection of books, journals, periodicals, research papers, magazines, etc. The library was facing the problem of not being able to make available on demand the reference and research material to its employees. Moreover, many a times, multiple employees required the same study/reference material. With its existing system, the library was finding it difficult to manage various types of study/reference material and making it available to employees on time. This resulted in employee dissatisfaction, lower morale and reduced productivity.
Newgen recommended IGCAR to go for a solution comprising of OmniDocsTM and OmniScanTM. OmniScanTM is used to scan, index and finally upload the images of study/reference material to OmniDocsTM, where they are stored, managed and archived. Using rights-based access, a large number of employees are able to simultaneously access books, periodicals, journals, etc. Other benefits include reduced procurement costs, direct access from individual workstations and Web-based access to the study/reference material in the library, and reduced maintenance cost.
IGCAR was established in 1971 under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. It is engaged in broad-based multidisciplinary program of scientific research and advanced engineering directed towards the development of Fast Breeder Reactor technology.
