The bank has an extensive distribution network to serve its customers. Its primary business includes tailor-made services to both corporate and retail customers. The mandate from Central Bank of the UAE obligating all the banks to adopt electronic check clearance system resulted in the bank seeking a proven, best-of-breed, image-based check clearance system, which it found in Newgen Check Truncation System.
Newgen solution has been implemented for both inward clearing and outward clearing and integrated with the bank’s core banking system. The solution streamlines the process of check clearing at the bank, enables better customer service through quicker reconciliation, reduces operational costs, provides enhanced operational flexibility and productivity, and offers better fraud prevention.
Continuing with its fantastic run in Indian and International market, Newgen won new clients and consolidated its position with existing clients by bagging further orders from them, while the honors and appreciation kept rolling in. Newgen Software created history by bagging mother-of-all projects from India’s biggest life insurance company through HP India. Another win had a fast emerging African bank, Ecobank, placing the order for process standardization and centralization across multiple locations spanning various countries. In addition, Newgen Software successfully implemented Report Archival and Retrieval System in the biggest bank in India. Newgen Software also featured in the prestigious list of Top 100 innovators in India by NASSCOM.

One of the World’s Largest EDMS Deployments in Partnership with HP
Newgen Software recently won a highly prestigious Enterprise Document Management System (EDMS) implementation order from India’s biggest Life Insurance company through HP India.
The project involves complete digitization of administrative files and records for existing as well as new customers over the next 8 years. Digitization would help the company in faster service delivery to its customers, as customers’ records will be available on-line 24x7. Also, it will eliminate risks of record loss/damage due to natural disasters and accidents, as the records will be archived in digital form.
Leveraging IT, the company has been at the forefront of building continuous excellence in its operations. This project is a big step in that direction. With a customer base of 190 million, this is one of the largest digitization projects in world till date.
Newgen Software would provide OmniScanTM, the bulk scanning solution, for scanning of various forms and records; and OmniDocsTM, the Enterprise Document Management System, for managing and storing the scanned forms. The implementation would cover all the 2100 offices of the company across the country. The order is among the largest orders for Newgen Software, and the implementation shall be done in phases over the next few years. The project will be flagged off with a pilot implementation in Mumbai followed by implementation in metros and large city divisions.
The company is the biggest life insurance company in India. The company offers a number of products under Insurance Plans, Pension Plans, Unit Plans, and Group Schemes, in addition to the other categories. Newgen Software Bags The Ecobank Deal
Newgen Software recently bagged a prestigious deal with a leading African bank, Ecobank, which aims to become an example of “One Bank” concept in Africa. In accordance with its dynamic strategy to reach new countries, the bank needed scalable operations with company-wide licensing. This would enable the movement of licenses from one place to another within the bank as per the business need. As the affiliates operate in various local languages such as French, Portuguese, Spanish and English, there was lack of process standardization and centralization across the bank.
Newgen’s Business Process Management suite comprising OmniFlowTM Enterprise server, OmniDocsTM Enterprise server. OmniCaptureTM and RMS server to centralize the various processes across 13 countries. The system is installed centrally in Accra, Ghana, with backup servers in Nigeria and Togo. The bank's more than 4000 users are connected to the system via satellite on Web, and are able to work on the processes in the country-specific local language.
Newgen Software and the bank, in six months time, would automate four processes - Accounts Services, Expense Approval, Loans Processing, and Funds and Payment Processing.
Centralization of processes at one single location would result in better monitoring and reduced operating cost. Standardization of processes across countries would lead to creation of common SLAs and slashed turnaround time. Localization of processes would ease the working for back-office staff. Flexibility to add/change affiliates and users within a short time would help in keeping pace with the changing business dynamics.
Ecobank is a private sector bank operative in 13 countries of West and Central Africa. With its existing 92 subsidiaries across these countries, it aims to reach 23 countries in the coming years.

Newgen Software Implements Report Archival and Retrieval System in the Biggest Bank in India
Newgen Software successfully implemented Report Archival and Retrieval System in the biggest bank in India in partnership with a leading Indian software company. The solution is based on Newgen OmniReportsTM.
The bank generates 500 types of reports everyday. The total monthly output is upto 200 GB and would reach 500 GB in near future. All reports are uploaded to branches through FTP. The reports for last three years were not archived leading to huge consumption of storage space and increase in backup time on production systems. Retrieval of old reports, too, was time intensive.
The Newgen solution optimizes the availability of reports to branches by enabling browser-based access. Customer account statements can be printed directly from branches. End users are able to use data contained in reports for inquiries and investigation. The Newgen solution supports search on defined indices, wildcard search and complex search.
The bank has now access to reports on ‘need to know’ basis. Also, the rule-based archival is in line with the bank’s policies. In addition, compressed storage saves space and resources and printing costs are also minimized.
The bank is India's largest commercial bank, and has more than 9000 branches spread all across India. It offers merchant banking services, fund management, primary dealership in government securities, credit cards and insurance. The bank has global presence across 31 countries. |

OmniCaptureTM is Now OmniScanTM
With effect from 1st April 2007, the two variants of OmniCaptureTM have been re-named as OmniScanTM and OmniScan CenterTM. OmniScanTM will be available in three flavors: OmniScanTM Low Volume, OmniScanTM Mid Volume, and OmniScanTM High Volume. OmniScan CenterTM is a product for centralized scanning with built-in scanning workflow features for multiple users. A combination of Scan Stations and Workstations is required to scan, index and release documents through separate desktops.
There is no change in the functionality of the new products vis-a-vis the earlier product. Going forward, both the products will remain completely backward compatible in functionality and features.
