A global generic-pharmaceutical giant opted for the BPM solution from Newgen to automate the Accounts Payable process at its Shared Service Center (SSC), and has discovered benefits beyond mere automation. The company was running SAP 4.6c for its various Accounting and Finance processes. However, tedious and time-consuming transportation, tracking, and maintenance of physical documents were eating into processing time and costs. The NEWGEN® BPM solution has been tightly integrated with the existing SAP environment. Incoming invoices are scanned, indexed, categorized (Purchase Order / non Purchase Order), and exported to the workflow. Invoices are initiated as workitems in the workflow. Subsequently, they are automatically routed to the concerned process personnel. Invoice images corresponding to respective workitem can be viewed from within the SAP environment. Validations are performed to ensure that right association has been made between the workitem id and SAP transaction id. After processing of invoices, data is sent to update SAP with the required information. The company witnessed quicker vendor account reconciliation, comprehensive and quick tracking of invoices, and improved efficiencies across the board. The solution’s seamless integration with SAP without affecting the existing process was a big benefit for the company. Only a few months into Newgen’s solution deployment, the company is already raking in high ROI.
The monsoon came to an end, but the orders continue to pour into Newgen. In the past month, companies across the industries chose Newgen solutions for streamlining their business processes and effectively managing their enterprise-wide content. Another bank in the Middle East decided to employ NEWGEN® BPM solution. Newgen also showcased its Linux-based solutions at multi-city roadshows.

Newgen Software Launches OmniExtract TM 6.1.4
Newgen Software, a leader in the field of BPM and ECM today announced the launch of the latest version of NEWGEN® OmniExtractTM, an easy-to-configure forms processing solution, for automated data extraction from both structured and unstructured form images.
The new version, OmniExtractTM 6.1.4, comes with greater flexibility and enhanced features enabling customers to adapt to changing business conditions and capitalize on market opportunities. OmniExtractTM 6.1.4 enables users to easily integrate customized external applications for image pre-processing. It gives users greater flexibility in form design and printing. OmniExtractTM 6.1.4 has the capability to successfully process complex structured forms (HIPPA, UB92, Mortgage 1003 forms, etc.) without having to redesign the forms.
OmniExtractTM 6.1.4 enables better form definition by automatic identification and creation of data zones. The data zones can now also be associated with multiple legends for better success rate. Features such as auto-zone identification, auto-table extraction, auto-form definition, static-text removal, dual engine voting, and form-level data filters greatly improve the data accuracy of OmniExtractTM.
For better recognition accuracy, OmniExtractTM is now equipped with advanced zone properties. With this feature, image clean-up activities like removal of line/noise can now be defined at both page and zone level.

Centillion Solutions and Services: Banking on Newgen
Centillion Solutions and Services Ltd., the Shared Services Center of Centurion Bank of Punjab, recently chose Newgen to automate and streamline its various banking processes including Retail Loan Assets.
The solution, based on OmniFlowTM, OmniDocsTM, and OmniScanTM, includes automation of about 20 processes including the Shared Presentation process, which is a key process in knowledge outsourcing. Newgen emerged the winner amongst a host of competing vendors on account of speed of implementation and ease of use of the solution.
With Newgen solution, Centillion expects to reap a number of benefits such as lower cost of processing; better monitoring of processes, people and transactions; and speedy ROI realization. The solution would be implemented in Bangalore, Pune, and Gurgaon, with the total number of users expected to go up to 1500 within a year.

Development Credit Bank Ltd.: Managing Documents the OmniDocsTM Way
Development Credit Bank (DCB), one of the emerging private sector banks in India, chose the Enterprise Document Management solution, OmniDocsTM, to manage its huge and burgeoning volume of documents.
DCB is witnessing a rapid growth across its various operations. With increasing business, a large number of documents are regularly churned off across various operations, departments, and geographies. With no document management system in place, the bank’s operations were beleaguered with delayed Turn Around Times (TAT). As a result, DCB sought a proven and scalable centralized archival system, which could efficiently serve it well into the future.
