Bank Sohar Adopts Newgen DMS solution to Manage Fast Growth
Bank Sohar, committed to become one of Oman's leading banks, recently choose Newgen's Document Management Solution for efficiently managing the volume of documentation due to a rapidly increasing customer base. Bank Sohar has leveraged IT extensively to build and deliver solutions to its valued customers.
Newgen proposed an OmniDocs-based DMS solution, which will integrate with Finacle (Core and CRM/LOS modules), the core banking solution at the bank. The DMS solution would store and manage Account Opening related documents of customers. As the solution is integrated with Finacle, users at the bank would be able to seamlessly access documents through Finacle interface.
The solution would enable faster processing of Account Opening applications. Storing documents in the electronic form would also enable the bank to save document storage, retrieval and maintenance costs.
The solution will be deployed centrally. Initially five branches will be part of the system with provision of extending the solution to 50 branches.

Newgen Software Reaches out to Albania: To Implement BPM Solution at American Bank of Albania
American Bank of Albania (ABA), the leading financial institution in Albania, decided to implement Newgen’s BPM and DM solution to efficiently manage its aggressive growth plans.
ABA plans to automate critical processes such as Accounts Opening, Funds Transfer and Loans Processing. Newgen solution includes implementing its BPM suite comprising OmniFlowTM, OmniDocsTM and OmniScanTM. The solution would seamlessly integrate with Flexcube, the core banking solution at ABA.
Newgen won this order amidst stiff competition from the international giants in BPM and DM space. What tipped the balance in Newgen’s favor was the customized, mid-sized solution offering, which ABA felt was best suited to its requirements.
With Newgen solution, the bank expects shortened customer service time, agility in responding to market changes, better-managed and tracked processes, effective compliance, and improved productivity of employees. With aggressive expansion plans, the bank intends to extend the BPM solution to cover other business processes.
American Bank of Albania was recently named the best bank in Albania by the Bankers Magazine. ABA recently merged with Banca Italo-Albanese to form the second banking institution in Albania. It is a part of the international Italian banking group “Intesa Sanpaolo.” Currently, it servers over 127,500 customers through 34 branches in Albania and Greece.
Newgen Solution to Automate Examination Marking System for Cambridge Assessment
Newgen Software, with its proven expertise in imaging technology, procured an order through Infosys Technologies for providing the solution to automate the examination marking system for Cambridge Assessment.
Cambridge Assessment, which already had a system in place for partial extraction of answers from the answer sheets, was facing difficulty in successfully extracting the short, handwritten answers, which needed expert Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) capabilities.
With Newgen solution, Cambridge Assessment expects to reduce time, effort and cost on assessing examination answers.
The Cambridge Assessment Group is Europe's largest assessment agency. It incorporates three exam boards and it is a department of the University of Cambridge.
Newgen Solution for Outsourced Bonds Processing for RTBA, Australia
Newgen Software bagged an order for providing OmniFlow-based BPM solution for processing of bonds managed by Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RTBA) in the state of Victoria, Australia. Newgen Software got this order through iGATE, who successfully submitted its bid with Newgen’s OmniFlow as the application platform.
The solution had to meet strict SLAs set down by RTBA. This requires correct processing of transactions in minimum time. Also, meeting strict deadlines, reconciliation and management too were critical areas for the solution.
The solution is designed with a simple user interface, using which the operators answer some simple questions by simultaneously viewing the document images on their screens. The responses are compiled and transactions are processed accordingly at the backend. In addition to providing the high scalability for continually increasing number of transactions of RTBA, the Newgen solution also has a powerful reporting module for monitoring and reconciliation.
Residential Tenancies Bond Authority is a body under Department of Justice, Government of Victoria. Based in Melbourne, it is involved in managing Rental bonds in the Victoria state.
