Quality is not considered a destination but a journey. We have a quest to work relentlessly towards fulfilling the ever-rising expectations of our customers by conducting periodic self-assessments and by constantly raising the bar and surpassing it. We set high quality standards, benchmarking ourselves against the best of the best, maintaining Quality at every stage.
 
For communicating top management commitment to Quality, The Managing Director of Newgen, Mr. Diwakar Nigam has laid down Newgen's Quality Policy as under ;

  • Meet or exceed customer requirements by delivering solutions and services on time every time leading to customer delight.
  • Make continual improvement in quality management system effectiveness.
At Newgen, Quality certification was never a business requirement, but happened as a natural consequence of its Quality endeavors. In its quality journey, Newgen achieved various milestones that signify recognition of its quality commitment by the external world. The Quality journey started in 1997 with establishment of Quality System Group and formalizing Newgen Quality System. It has never looked back since then. In 1998, Newgen was certified to ISO 9001: 1994 by KPMG. Its re-certification happened in the year 2001. It was assessed to Software CMM at Level 4 in 2003 and again certified to ISO 9001: 2000 in December 2003.
 
The senior management is fully committed to all quality endeavours. It actively participates in the planning, execution and reviews of Quality initiatives. While Mr. T. S. Varadarajan, our Director, presides Management Committee meetings to review effectiveness of Newgen Quality Systems, Mr. Diwakar Nigam, our Managing Director, participates in detailed reviews of all projects towards their Quality plans. These reviews include Completeness, Effort and Schedules of all projects as these directly effect our customer requirements. Our workforce is constantly exposed to various training courses on programming practices, software quality assurance and software engineering, and on specific tools and techniques such as configuration management, inspection and reviews. This process is supported by a hands-on quality assurance function and a comprehensive system of internal audits. 
 
Similarly our SEPG Group consists of Group heads of all departments that regularly meet for process improvement initiatives. It is due to their recommendation that Newgen has started work on implementing Information Security Standards (BS-7799), adopting eSCM practices as well as working for CMMi Level 5. These shall be our main focus for next one year.
