At Sadbhavna our mission is to assist educationally and economically deprived children in pursuing education in their areas of interest to as high a level as they desire and are capable of achieving. To be a part of Sadbhavna what one needs is Sadbhavna - a feeling of compassion, for the future of our country. With the view of keeping you informed of the happenings at Sadbhavna we have started a monthly newsletter for Sadbhavna.

In line with our holistic approach towards the welfare of children the Sadbhavna fund has made payment for their school textbooks and notebooks. A library facility has been started for the children with the objective of developing interest amongst them towards reading. The fund is further utilized to assist these children in achieving their potential through educational and training programs. Such programs may include tutoring, mentoring, job training and career-forming opportunities aimed at preparing youth for the future by providing them skills for future employment.

A painting competition for children was held on the 16th of June 2007, to encourage children to come up with vibrant colors that fill up their imagination. To further boost their confidence their paintings have been displayed in the Newgen, D - 152, canteen. We have started shooting a film of the various activities held at Sadbhavna. Our plan is to develop a two-three minute capsule on Sadbhavna with the objective to create awareness about the program.

It gives enormous pleasure to see the difference our little efforts can bring about in the lives of these innocent children who are a part of Sadbhavna. Activities like story telling, extempore, painting competition etc. help them in shedding their inhibitions and exploring new opportunities in a fun-filled environment.

A Ray of Hope

Till the age of four and a half year, living in the capital of India, Jatin had not seen the face of a school. One day his mother Sudha (part of our house-keeping staff) brought him to Sadbhavna and a whole new world opened for him. Sadbhavna closely interacted with Jatin to make him feel at home and identify his inherent capabilities. The mode of interaction was through fun activities like stories, games and public speaking.

Sadbhavna took the initiative to get Jatin admitted to Deepalaya, a neighborhood school. Sadbhavna activities have helped him build confidence to interact with other children. Sudha was overjoyed to see her child speaking for the first time over the mike. Hope for Jatin’s better future was rekindled in the eyes of the proud mother.

If you wish to make a contribution you can join the monthly sessions of Sadbhavna, or contribute to the Sadbhavna fund.
